The leitmotif of the songs – “I Come Down” and “New Air” embraces the mood of “lingering.”

Made up of Elinor Carbone (vocals, tambourine), Alex Acuna (guitar, bass, synth), and Jordan White (drums), Weathering formed in 2019. Their sound, influenced by dark-wave ‘80’s bands such as Depeche Mode and The Cure, as well as Cloakroom, and Nothing, encompasses viscous layers of creamy-dreamy shoegaze, emo, and dream-pop, haunting and deliciously subtle.

“I Come Down” opening on gently gleaming colors, swaying, drifting, and wafting with alluring textures. Carbone’s voice, delicate, yet tantalizingly potent, infuses the lyrics with palpable wisps of beguiling hues. When Acuna’s guitar takes on darker, thicker energy, Carbone’s tones assume a piercing edge.

Carbone’s voice demands special attention, simply because of its gorgeous, irresistible tones, pregnant with mysterious sonic symbolism.

“I come down, you've got one foot on my doorstep / Will you spend the night? Come in, let's begin / You take your shoes off and I feel important / We smoke on the roof and that's when you say / You'd like to see him cry.”

“New Air” rides more muscular new-wave coloration, chock-full of heavy grainy guitar tones and glistening accents. The rhythm of this song features White’s elegantly nuanced and formidable talent on the drums, adding tight rumbling-lite contact to the posh harmonics.

“You'll find new air to fill your lungs / I wanna see it when you finally get it right / Send me a picture of yourself sometime / I'll remember the stars over the road that night.”

Carbone’s voice demands special attention, simply because of its gorgeous, irresistible tones, pregnant with mysterious sonic symbolism.

On I Come Down, Weathering serves up exquisite music, replete with hovering imminence, and the hypnotic voice of Elinor Carbone.
