NPR Music’s All Songs Considered debuted “Breath and Burning” earlier this week, applauding it as “a breezy rocker punctuated by some classic soul horn lines and a joyful key-change in the chorus that hints at future jams,” adding that “while it highlights Phish’s trademark songcraft and knotty wordplay, Anastasio and the band are revealing more of themselves in the lyrics…As Anastasio sings about looming end times with celebration of life rather than with doom, it feels like one of the more personally direct songs in Phish’s repertoire.”

Big Boat was announced last week with an exclusive album trailer, viewable now at phish.com. The album was produced by Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, KISS), his second collaboration with Phish following 2014′s Fuego.

There’s definitely a point of view to this one. We’re old enough to have a healthy respect for mortality.

Recorded in Nashville, New York and the band’s home state of Vermont, Big Boat features 13 new songs contributed by all four members of the band – Trey Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon, and Page McConnell. The album was recently named among Rolling Stone’s “Fall Preview 2016: 35 Must-Hear Albums,” with Anastasio noting, “There’s definitely a point of view to this one. We’re old enough to have a healthy respect for mortality.”

Phish recently wrapped its summer 2016 tour with a trio of sold out Labor Day shows at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO and is now getting ready to embark on its upcoming fall tour. The dates begin with a two night stand October 14th at North Charleston, SC’s North Charleston Coliseum with multiple two-nighters in Nashville, TN, Alpharetta, GA, and Grand Prairie, TX, as well as the band’s first-ever concert in Jacksonville, FL. The October outing concludes with a sold out four-night run at Las Vegas, NV’s MGM Grand Garden Arena culminating on Halloween.

Phish will return to Riviera Maya’s Barceló Maya Beach for their second annual four-night all-inclusive concert vacation, to take place on January 13th-15th, 2017. For complete details and ticket information, please see Phishriveramaya.com
