Brooklyn reggae singer-songwriter Louis Atlas just finished a series of stellar performances in New York and Long Island, as well as headlining Shrine in Harlem and playing DROM and My Father’s Place.
Now Louis Atlas and his band are setting off for Europe, where they will perform in Italy, on November 8. All these shows are due to the overwhelming response triggered by Atlas’ latest album, Coconut Dream, recorded with producer/engineer Christian Cassan, who has worked with David Byrne. Released in March, Coconut Dream received vast praise from the media, and, more impressively, attracted the attention of listeners.
Atlas’ live shows are galvanizing affairs, reflecting the virtuosity and tightness of the band, as it delivers raw passionate performances, resonant and simultaneously graceful.

Atlas and his band recently shared the stage at My Father’s Place in Roslyn, NY with Sister Carol, Jamaica’s renowned Grammy-nominated reggae artist. The SRO audience included stars such as Carson Daly. The club’s Michael “Eppy” Epstein invited the band to return for headlining weekend show.
Recent media features point to the band’s expanding status as a premiere reggae band, including appearing in the Roslyn News, doing a comprehensive interview with MusicXClusives, and an episode on Voice of America’s international show ‘Border Crossings.’ Radio station WRHU interviewed Atlas about his return to My Father’s Place.
Coconut Dream encompasses ten delicious tracks revolving around the topic of love. According to Atlas, the album was inspired by true love. “It’s because I’m in love. Now, I can’t say I’ve never written love songs. But I’m inspired now to write songs filled with longing and joy and happiness. That’s what I’m feeling now. And I’ve always written about what I feel at the moment.”
Atlas’ previous releases include Beat of the Heart, Citizen of NYC, and Arms of Heaven. His most recent album, Coconut Dream, features a who’s who of talent, including Andy Bassford (guitar), Bryonha Parham (vocals), and Christian Cassan (producer, drummer).
