JOEY GONZALEZ RELEASES POIGNANT ‘24 SEVEN FIGHT’
Santa Clara pop-rock artist Joey Gonzalez introduces his new single, entitled “24 Seven Fight,” a song about dealing with the emotional suffering engendered by losing a child.

Inspired by actual events, Joey explains, “Being a father of two young teenagers, I cannot even imagine the gut-punching emotions that arise as you rediscover how to live in a new normal of life without a child.”
He goes on to add, “Researching how parents found ways to live and find joy again inspired the tension between the verses and chorus. The bridge was intentionally left without lyrics to represent the moments of peace and rest, almost like coming up for air after being underwater for so long only to return to the struggle and continue to fight for life and love.”
Raised by his single mother, Joey grew up enveloped in music, listening to Elvis, Journey, Bon Jovi, Sam Cooke, and Babyface. Music provided an emotional connection to the world. Later, he set aside music in favor of sports, yet a severe injury carried him back to music once again. He joined a Gospel Rock Band, releasing an album, followed by making the decision to go solo. He toured for two years and in the process discovered his future wife.

Once married, Joey continued making music, eventually taking a break from touring to focus on family. In 2014, he returned to music with renewed energy, and for a brief period lost sight of his priorities, which lead to separating from his wife in 2017. Music proved to be both a stabilizer and cathartic. With divorce imminent, a miracle occurred resulting in reconciliation and renewed love and commitment.
The journey resulted in The Burn EP, a collection of songs about love, collapse, hope, and rebuilding.
“24 Seven Fight” opens on trembling colors riding a powerful, throbbing rhythm while swirling, luminous accents glide overhead. A dazzling guitar solo fills the tune with yearning urgency, echoes of the emotional anguish brought on by loss.
Joey’s voice, chock-full of evocative aching passion, infuses the lyrics with wisps of palpable energy. Glowing backing vocals imbue the tune with lustrous timbres, fueling the song’s poignancy.
