Yesterday, Santa Clara-based pop-rock artist Joey Gonzalez released his latest single, entitled “Go.”

Explaining the song, Joey says, “'Go' is a 3 minute journey towards personal ownership of my actions and perspectives. The realization and rediscovery of a greater world beyond my own four walls and ultimately that we have the ability to impact this world in a positive way once we overcome fear and doubt.”
Inspired by the all-encompassing influence and pervasiveness of social media, “Go” reflects the lulling of the intellectual and transcendent aspects of humankind, where ‘packaging’ takes precedence over authenticity.
According to Joey, “We are living in a social media driven season of time where actions can easily take a backseat to opinions, selfies, and creating an image. The ever-growing political and social uncertainty in America caused me to spend most of the past year reflecting on how I was adding to that direction or if I was being part of the change I wanted to see. Dealing with those frustrations I quickly discovered that is/was a resounding cymbal and I had nothing to add to the conversation unless I took a stand for TRUTH and LOVE.”

Immersed in music while growing up, Joey’s father, a professional vocalist in the world of opera instilled him with a passion for melody and arrangement, while his mother embedded the seeds of love, faith, and spirituality.
