JENN GRINELS UNVEILS SAVORY ‘ANYTIME SOON’
Portland-based indie-Americana artist Jenn Grinels unveils the single/music video, “Anytime Soon,” a song about reviewing the sacrifices and risks taken for the sake of her art.

Roughly ten years ago, Jenn moved out of her apartment, put her belongings in storage, and took off on tour, traveling from city to city, performing concerts throughout the U.S., from New York to Nashville, along with shows from Mexico to Nicaragua, sharing the stage with 10,000 Maniacs, Marc Broussard, Edwin McCain, Christopher Cross, and Marc Cohn, among others.
Recently, she took a break from the incessant touring and moved to Portland, Oregon, where she entered the studio to lay down tracks for three albums slated for release over the next year and a half.
While pursuing her dream of making music, Jenn forewent the social gatherings and events most people take for granted: baby showers, weddings, graduations, etc. Yet for Jenn, the price was worth it. Even if she could, she wouldn’t go back and change anything.
As she puts it in the song, “I’m not coming home anytime soon.”
There’s a bubbling, seething momentum to “Anytime Soon,” rife with almost palpable energy, mirroring the non-stop motion of Jenn’s dedication to music.
“Anytime Soon” opens on low-slung, dark colors, sultry and potent. The melody throbs with delicious insistence as Jenn’s velvety tones glide over the harmonics, imbuing the lyrics with passionate flavors, at once creamy and imminent.
Sylph-like glowing strings sweep across the soundscape, giving the music yummy textures of gleaming filaments, while luminous accents infuse the tune with cashmere zest.
The video, directed by Patryk Larney, depicts Jenn with her guitar on her back, journeying from location to location, migrating around the world to perform, while simultaneously visiting the most beautiful sights on the planet.
