Acclaimed as the next big thing in music, Vogue Magazine said: "Writer, producer, stylist, designer and creative director, it's clear that Griff is a force to be reckoned with."

"Griff is the hottest new artist to come out of the UK since Dua Lipa,” asserted V Mag, while NME wrote, “The teenage boss about to take charge of pop.”

“Forgive Myself” reflects on the inner doubts and uncertainties associated with allowing self to love once again, after going through a breakup.

Griff explains, “I think I find it easy to be quite hard on myself when it comes to making decisions and trusting people. So this song was just about cutting myself some slack and forgiving myself for past relationships that maybe didn't end in the way I thought they would.”

“Forgive Myself” opens on glowing synths flowing into creamy R&B colors topped by Griff’s distinctively exotic-suffused tones, exuding delicious subterranean timbres, as well as crystalline coloration.

Born in Watford, UK, to Chinese and Jamaican parents, Griff taught herself songwriting and production skills, followed by shooting her own videos in her home studio. She made an immediate impact with her debut single, “Mirror Talk,” followed by “Didn’t Break It Enough,” and “Paradise.” Then she dropped her debut EP, The Mirror Talk, followed by “Eternal Flame” and “Good Stuff,” which collected over 20 million streams.

“Forgive Myself” opens on glowing synths flowing into creamy R&B colors topped by Griff’s distinctively exotic-suffused tones, exuding delicious subterranean timbres, as well as crystalline coloration. The shimmering pulse of the synths infuses the tune with a trembling dimension, while Griff narrates her need to grant clemency to herself for not being perfect.

“I gave my heart to the wrong somebody else / And I need to forgive myself, oh / I gave my heart to the wrong somebody else / And I need to forgive myself.”

“Forgive Myself” blends heady electro-pop, R&B, and soul savors into an excellent song, crowned by Griff’s wide-ranging voice.
