Vegas/Nashville-based singer-songwriter and actress Ashlie Amber recently released her debut single, “Almost Love.”

Originally from Colorado, by the time she was six-years-old Ashlie was singing out of the sheer joy of expression. Sadly, shortly thereafter, she lost her father. As she processed her sorrow and heartache, singing and music became cathartic, helping her work through her emotions. Over the course of time, Ashlie realized music was more than a means of articulating sensations – it was her passion and purpose.
Later, in middle school and high school, she began participating in talent shows and performing live, while at the same time taking an interest in sports, theatre, choir, and academics. After graduation, she committed to tossing aside any and all doubts to pursue music.
Becoming part of the Actors’ Equity Association, she performed around the globe, including appearing on the 2012 Season of American Idol, receiving nominations for the Henry Awards, and landing starring roles in musicals – The Color Purple, Avenue Q, and RENT, followed by landing a residency on The Celebrity Edge, a billion-dollar cruise ship, where her live performances caught the attention of producers.
Ashlie’s rich, drawling inflection, exquisitely flavored with velvety tones, infuses the lyrics with heartfelt textures.
Ashlie is presently working with Emmy-winner Jamie Tate on her forthcoming debut album, slated for release later this year. Anticipating Top 40 success with the album, Ashlie’s goal is to open the door for Black Female Country singers in the music industry.
“Almost Love” opens on an undulating country melody flowing into a tantalizing glow of creamy, jangly guitars riding a potent rhythm swaying and rolling on an infectious beat. Ashlie’s rich, drawling inflection, exquisitely flavored with velvety tones, infuses the lyrics with heartfelt textures.
