Unfortunately, that’s all the information available about Janet A. Googling her name reveals nada. She has a Facebook page, which is almost totally devoid of any information. And she has an Instagram page exposing only skeletal-like data, along with three posts.

That being said, despite the death of gen about who she is, what she’s done musically, her influences, etc., the EP totally slaps! It encompasses four tracks of pop or power pop, depending on your personal subjective perspective.

The first track is called “Delight,” and opens on shimmering guitars and stuttering synths flowing into a hefty, dark colored melody rippling with muscular energy. The rhythm pulses with buff force, as tight, flat percussion keeps the beat. Janet A’s voice, rich and powerful, projects flavors and textures reminiscent of Alanis Morissette combined with Lady Gaga and Avril Lavigne. Having said that, her voice’s sonic quality and texture is completely sui generis and superiorly distinctive. Janet A has it going on the realm of vocal chops!

Backed by skintight radiant vocal harmonies, Janet A’s voice surges with tasty timbres and wicked edgy hues.

“Nuts” is the second track, and rides jangly dirty guitars on what amounts to an alt-rock melody with hints of power pop tendrils running through it. Backed by skintight radiant vocal harmonies, Janet A’s voice surges with tasty timbres and wicked edgy hues. A yummy breakdown occurs in place of the solo section, imbuing the tune with a fluctuating sensation.

“Funky Zone” features ebullient coloration from layers of guitars forming a delicious wall-of-sound reminiscent of Motown. The staggering rhythm is marvelously addictive, as is Janet A’s recklessly dynamic voice.

The last track, “Inspiration,” slows things down a bit, opening on gentle, resonant guitars and a super-crisp sidestick attended by the measured throbbing of the bass line. Elegant streaming strings glide in the backdrop, infusing the tune with flowing colors. As the guitars elevate, the song assumes a thick intensity and propulsive brawniness. This is my favorite track on the EP because of its slow build-up to ferocious sonic momentum.

Even though I am bereft of knowledge about this artist, Janet A oozes talent from every fiber of her being. Be sure to give this EP your attention.
